Lakshmi Ganesh Puja — Step by Step

An outline of how the ceremony is conducted. Your pandit may adapt the order to your family tradition and regional practice.

  1. Arrival, setup & sankalp

The pandit arrives about 30 minutes early, sets up the chowki facing east and takes the sankalp in the name and gotra of the yajman family, stating the purpose of the Lakshmi Ganesh Puja.

  2. Ganesh–Lakshmi sthapana

Lord Ganesha is invoked first so that the ceremony proceeds without obstacles, with offerings of durva, flowers, akshat and sweets.

  3. Shri Suktam path

The pandit recites the prescribed texts with correct swara and pauses to explain their meaning so the whole family can follow along.

  4. Kuber puja

Performed with the prescribed mantras and upacharas, with the pandit guiding the family through each action.

  5. Deep daan

Aarti is performed with lamps and camphor, bhog is offered to the deity, and prasad is shared with family and guests.

  6. Aarti & prasad

Aarti is performed with lamps and camphor, bhog is offered to the deity, and prasad is shared with family and guests.

  7. Kshama prarthana & ashirvad

The ceremony usually takes 1.5 – 2 hrs. The exact time depends on your family tradition, the number of participants and any additional rituals you request. We share a timeline when confirming the booking.

Yes. The pandit conducts the complete vidhi over a video call while your family performs the offerings at home. You receive the samagri list in advance so everything is ready before the call.

It covers the pandit's dakshina for the standard vidhi: Ganesh–Lakshmi sthapana, Shri Suktam path, Kuber puja, Deep daan, Aarti & prasad. Samagri, travel outside city limits and additional pandits are quoted separately before you confirm.

Families usually arrange the samagri using the list the pandit shares before the ceremony. If you prefer, the pandit can bring the complete samagri kit for a pre-agreed amount.

Your pandit consults the panchang along with the birth details of the family head (or the individual concerned) to recommend auspicious dates and timings.
