Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about booking, dakshina, samagri, online pujas and joining as a pandit — plus our privacy policy and terms.

Booking & Muhurat

Open the Book a Puja page (or click “Book Now” on any puja), fill in your details and submit. You receive a booking ID and a confirmation email, and our team calls you to confirm the date, time and pandit. Logged-in customers can follow every step in My Account.

For most pujas, 5–7 days in advance is ideal. For weddings, Griha Pravesh on popular muhurats and festival days such as Diwali or Ganesh Chaturthi, we recommend booking 3–4 weeks ahead. Bookings can be made up to 90 days in advance.

Yes. Mention your preferred date (or ask for a muhurat) when booking. For ceremonies such as Vivah, Griha Pravesh or Namkaran, your pandit fixes the timing from the panchang and the birth details of the family members concerned.

Absolutely. Browse our pandits by city, language, speciality and rating, view their profile and click “Book”. If you have no preference, we match you with an available verified pandit experienced in your ritual and tradition.

An account lets you track your puja. If you are not logged in, the booking form creates your account with your email and password; a one-time account fee of ₹2,100 is paid by UPI and your account becomes active once we verify the payment. You can also sign up first.

Payments & Dakshina

Payments are made by UPI to shrivaidiksanatani@pnb (Shri Vaidik Sanatani). The QR code on the website has the exact amount filled in; after paying you enter the 12-digit UTR number, and our team verifies it with the bank. Dakshina for the puja itself is confirmed with you before the ceremony.

The “starting at” amount is the pandit's dakshina for the standard vidhi listed under “What's included” on each puja page. Samagri, travel outside city limits, additional pandits and optional rituals are quoted separately before you confirm.

No. Our pandits agree not to ask for anything beyond the confirmed dakshina. Families are welcome to offer voluntary dakshina, vastra or bhojan as per their tradition, but it is never expected. Please report any request for extra money to our seva team.

Travel within city limits is included. For venues outside the city or pujas requiring the pandit to bring the complete samagri kit, the additional amount is shown clearly at the time of booking.

Our Pandits

Every pandit goes through a four-step process: document and education verification, a shastra interview with our advisory acharyas, reference and conduct checks, and a supervised first puja followed by ongoing family reviews. Read more on our About page.

Our pandits follow Rig Veda, Shukla and Krishna Yajurveda and Samaveda traditions, and explain rituals in Hindi, English, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Telugu and more. You can filter pandits by language on the Pandits page.

Yes — this is one of the things families value most. Our pandits pause at key moments to explain the meaning of the mantras and actions, so everyone can participate with understanding.

Please share feedback from your dashboard or through the contact page. Every review is read by our team; pandits who fall below our standards are coached or removed from the network.

Samagri

Your pandit shares a personalised samagri list at least three days before the ceremony. A typical list is also visible in the “Samagri” tab on every puja page so you can plan early.

Yes. On request, the pandit can bring the complete samagri kit or specific items such as the havan kund and samidha for a fixed, pre-agreed amount.

Keep the puja area clean, set up a chowki (or low table) facing east or north, arrange mats for the family to sit on, keep water, a lighter and a few extra plates ready, and make sure the samagri is placed in one spot.

Online Pujas

The pandit performs the vidhi over a video call while your family follows along and makes the offerings at home. You receive the samagri list and a simple setup guide in advance, and the sankalp is taken in your family's names and gotra.

Pujas marked “Online” — such as Ganesh Puja, Satyanarayan Katha, Rudrabhishek, Lakshmi Puja, Navgraha Shanti and Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap — can be performed online. Ceremonies such as Vivah, Griha Pravesh and Mundan are performed in person.

The shastras emphasise sankalp and shraddha. With the correct sankalp and sincere participation of the family, online pujas are widely accepted — especially for families living abroad or relatives who cannot travel.

A phone or laptop with a stable internet connection, a stand to keep the camera steady, the samagri from your list and a quiet space. We recommend a short test call a day before.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Yes, subject to the pandit's availability on the new date. Please call or WhatsApp us on +91 97840 71806 with your booking ID.

Open the booking in My Account and choose “Cancel” (possible until a pandit accepts it), or contact our seva team with your booking ID.

Please contact us as early as possible. Our team explains the cancellation terms for your specific puja when confirming the booking. The one-time account fee is not refundable once the account is activated.

In the rare case a pandit cannot attend, we arrange an equally experienced replacement and inform you immediately. If you prefer, you can reschedule instead.

Pandit Registration

Fill in the pandit registration form with your education, experience, specialities, languages and cities served. Our team reviews every application and contacts you for the next steps.

We look for formal Vedic education from a recognised pathshala, gurukul or Sanskrit university, practical experience in karmakand, correct pronunciation, and a record of respectful conduct with families and temples.

Yes. A one-time registration fee of ₹1,100 is paid by UPI while applying. Every applicant must also provide their own Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank account details. Applications are reviewed only after the full fee is received.

Approved pandits log in to the Pandit Portal with their email and password to see the pujas assigned to them, accept them, mark them completed and update their profile.
